FIDDELIUM

Nanaimo has a growing number of reasons to be proud of the musicians in Fiddelium. They are the winners of a 2023 Canadian Folk Music Award (Young Performers of the Year) and have also been nominated for this same award in 2024. Fiddelium has also won the CBC Canadian Music Class Challenge twice (2019 and 2020). These national awards come with good reason: this is a truly exceptional ensemble who present professional-level performances to overjoyed audiences up and down Vancouver Island.

Fiddelium plays a wide variety of traditional and contemporary folk music complete with intricate harmonies and dynamic choreography. These 18 youth (aged 10-19 years) present a thrilling show that will have everyone tapping their toes and cheering with enthusiasm!

Fiddelium is joined on stage by Folk Band, a 50-member community string ensemble, as well as a group of young Suzuki string students aged 3 and up. Be sure to watch our social media for news of our guest artist for 2024!
