The music will be played by a quartet of local musicians: Larry Miller, (Clarinet), Anatol McGinnis (Violin), Sarah M. Woods (Piano) and Kosma Busheikin (Stand-up Bass)
They will be joined by Guest Artists:
Joseph Clemotter (Harp) a young Nanaimo harpist.
Frankie Bouchier (Baritone) has recently settled in Nanaimo and is a classically trained baritone from Sydney, Australia where he studied under the tutelage of renowned countertenor Andrew Dalton at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He has performed across the globe, most notably at the Montreaux Jazz festival in Switzerland and at the Sydney Opera House with Patti LuPone. He is delighted to be based out of Nanaimo where he will be performing at the Port Theatre in late May with local musician Joshua Holloway.
T.B.A. (Soprano)
The programme consists of favourite classical dance divertimentos by W.A. Mozart, Beethoven and other popular dance music by Josef Strauss, G. Rossini, F. Schubert, L. Arditi, J. Mikel, and more.
The dance music includes early Waltzes, Reels, E.C.D. Regency (Jane Austen), Mazurka, Barn Dance, Polka, Cotillion, Quadrille, Galop, Schottische, and others.
The concert is being personally promoted by Gordon Pascoe to show his personal love of vintage music and dance and will include several of his own compositions.
Any surplus proceeds will be used by the Vancouver Island Vintage Dance Society (VIViD) a B.C. Society to help fund the Salon Orchestra’s musicians.
