× Barney Bentall and the Cariboo Express Fundraiser for the John Howard Society

Friday, November 23rd 7:30 pm Preshow Chat 6:45PM

The Cariboo Express is hitching up the team and heading over to Nanaimo’s Port Theatre from across the Rockies. The performance is raising funds to support the Nanaimo Region John Howard Society and its programs to house the homeless, treat addiction, find jobs for the chronically unemployed, and mentor troubled youth to reduce crime.

Each year, the Cariboo Express Tour is a highly anticipated show like no other – a heart-warming, hilarious variety showcase of astonishing talents in roots, country, and rock 'n roll, with a sense of community at the centre of it all.

Funds raised by the performance will support the incredible work of the Nanaimo Region John Howard Society programs that foster a safe and supported community through just, effective and humane responses to the cause as and consequences of crime. The Society runs the most effective prison-based addiction treatment program in Canada, and continues to be a leader in Restorative Justice, housing homeless community members, and helping chronically unemployed people toward supported employment and meaningful contributors to community. The work of the Society is vital to the liveability of all of us in Nanaimo.

Cariboo Express regulars Barney Bentall, Ridley Bent, Dustin Bentall, Wendy Bird, Kendel Carson, Matt Masters, and the Gold Rush Allstars backing band will be joined at select shows by: Kirby Barber, Adrian Dolan, and Leeroy Stagger and some very special surprise guests. The Cariboo Express has become a sought-after performance across Western Canada. It makes a significant impact on every community it touches with both its unique fundraising model and highly engaging show. Over the past decade The Cariboo Express has raised more than $1 million for important community agencies that are making difference – over $250,000 in funds were raised on the 2016 tour alone. What better way to spend a November night than a show that's not just an incredibly enjoyable favourite for all ages, but one that makes a difference in the community too!
